Alec Miller, PsyD
Alec Miller, PsyD specializes in the treatment of adolescents for borderline personality disorder, depression, stress, suicide and self-injury. He has researched and adapted the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy for suicidal, multi-problem adolescents and has disseminated the use of evidence-based interventions to schools, organizations and clinics worldwide.
Dr. Miller has served as Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychology, Director of the Adolescent Depression and Suicide Program, Associate Director of the Psychology Training, and Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
He has authored and co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, has co-authored four books, including the three leading textbooks on DBT with adolescents, titled, Dialectical Behavior Therapy with Suicidal Adolescents (2007), “DBT Skills Training with Adolescents (2015), and DBT Skills in Schools: The Skills Training for Emotional Problem-Solving for Adolescents).
