Blaise Aguirre, MD & Gillian Galen PsyD
Blaise Aguirre, MD is internationally recognized for his extensive work in the treatment of mood and personality disorders in adolescents. He is an expert in child, adolescent, and adult psychotherapy, including dialectical behavior therapy, Dr. Aguirre is the founding medical director of McLean Hospital's 3East Continuum of Care, an array of programs for teens that uses DBT to target self-endangering behaviors as well as the symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder traits. He is also an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School
Dr. Aguirre lectures throughout the world and is the author of numerous books, including Borderline Personality Disorder in Adolescents and Depression (Biographies of Disease); and author or co-author of Mindfulness for Borderline Personality Disorder, Coping with BPD, DBT for Dummies, Helping Your Troubled Teen, and I Hate Myself.
Gillian C. Galen, PsyD is an Instructor in Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Galen has extensive experience diagnosing and treating adolescents and young adults who struggle with emotion dysregulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-endangering behaviors, such as self-injury and suicidal behaviors. She specializes in the treatment of adolescents and their families using Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Dr, Galen is also the Program Director and Assistant Director of Training for McLean Hospital's 3East Girls Residential DBT program for young women displaying borderline personality disorder traits. Dr. Galen is the co-author of the books “Mindfulness for Borderline Personality Disorder: Relieve Your Suffering Using the Core Skill of Dialectical Behavior Therapy”, “Coping With BPD: DBT and CBT Skills to Soothe the Symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder”, and “DBT for Dummies.”
