Co-occurring Disorders with BPD
Borderline Personality Disorder often occurs with other mental illnesses. These co-occurring disorders can make it more difficult to recognize and treat Borderline Personality Disorder, especially if symptoms of other illnesses overlap with symptoms of BPD. For example, a person with borderline personality disorder may also experience symptoms of major depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, or eating disorders.
