Impulsive Dangerous Behaviors
People with BPD may engage in impulsive and dangerous behaviors. These behaviors can include binge drinking, gambling, dangerous driving, unsafe sex, spending sprees, binge eating, drug misuse, self harm, or extreme aggression. When a person acts on impulse their sudden, spontaneous behavior can be without foresight and without consideration of the consequences of their actions. Many people with BPD use impulsive behaviors to regulate emotions when distressed.
