Additional therapy options
If a therapist who has expertise in a specific treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder is not available some options for therapy would be to find a therapist, social worker or counselor who is interested in working with a person with BPD. Licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), are trained professionals who diagnose and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Social workers work in various settings, including private practice, hospitals, and community mental health centers.
A licensed professional counselor (LPC) is a mental health professional who has completed specific education, training, and licensing to provide counseling services. They are trained to help with mental, behavioral, and emotional issues. Licensed professional counselors can work in a wide variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, behavioral and community health agencies, private practices, and even religious centers.
