Residential Treatment
People with Borderline Personality Disorder who have attempted outpatient treatment but ultimately need a more structured environment may achieve success in a residential treatment program. Residential treatment can offer a safe environment with 24-hour supervision.
The program usually consists of a daily schedule of therapy, education and support in a home-like environment. Some programs accept insurance while others are only self-pay. The length of stay in a residential program can vary and it is very important to confirm that the residential program offers evident-based therapy and care. There are different levels of treatment care for Borderline Personality Disorder. The level of care should always be determined by an assessment with a qualified medical or counseling therapist.
